VP of Accounting & Finance
\n
\nExecutive Leadership, Strategic Influence & a Finger Lakes Lifestyle
\n
\nSeneca Falls, New York | $175,000–$190,000 Base Salary + 20% Bonus
\n
\nAn Executive Finance Opportunity Worth Exploring
\nFor an accomplished finance executive, the right career move is about more than a title or compensation package. It is an opportunity to influence business strategy, work directly with organizational leadership, and make decisions that shape a company's future.
\n
\nA.W. Forbes is representing an opportunity for a Vice President of Accounting & Finance with an established organization in Seneca Falls, in New York's scenic Finger Lakes region.
\n
\nThis position offers a combination of strategic financial leadership, hands-on operational involvement, and direct collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, executive leadership team, private equity partner, and Board of Directors.
\n
\nFor a finance professional who enjoys being close to the business, understanding what drives profitability, and helping leadership translate financial information into sound business decisions, this opportunity deserves consideration.
\n
\nMore Than Financial Oversight — A Voice in Business Strategy
\nAs a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Vice President of Accounting & Finance serves as a strategic business partner to the CEO and production leadership.
\n
\nThe position extends beyond traditional accounting and financial reporting. You will help evaluate business opportunities, support strategic expansion objectives, strengthen financial planning, and provide the insight necessary to improve organizational performance.
\n
\nThe role includes involvement in acquisition opportunities, capital investment decisions, financial modeling, banking relationships, and interactions with the organization's private equity partner.
\n
\nYou will also communicate financial performance and strategic considerations at executive and Board-level meetings.
\n
\nFor an experienced finance leader, this is an opportunity to contribute directly to decisions affecting the organization's operations, financial health, and future direction.
\n
\nThe Leadership Opportunity
\nThe position provides responsibility across several important business functions, including accounting, finance, purchasing, and information technology.
\nYour leadership will encompass:

\n\n

Strategic financial planning: Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cash flow management, and long-range financial projections.
Executive decision support: Work closely with the CEO and production management to evaluate business performance, pricing, profitability, investments, and expansion opportunities.
Operational financial management: Oversee accounting, financial reporting, working capital, inventory controls, receivables, payables, payroll, and expense management.
Private equity and Board collaboration: Provide financial information, analysis, and reporting to the organization's ownership and governance stakeholders.
Business improvement: Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls, streamline processes, improve financial visibility, and support operational efficiency.
Cross-functional leadership: Direct and develop accounting, purchasing, and IT personnel while encouraging accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
Financial stewardship: Oversee banking relationships, insurance, tax coordination, compliance, and the financial implications of business transactions.

\nThis is a hands-on executive position suited to someone who combines strong technical financial knowledge with practical business judgment.
\n
\nThe successful candidate will be comfortable moving between strategic discussions and the operational details that support sound financial decisions.
\n
\nLive and Work in New York's Finger Lakes Region
\nA career opportunity should also be evaluated in terms of the life it allows you to build outside the workplace.
\n
\nSeneca Falls is situated in the northern Finger Lakes region, an area recognized for its lakes, scenic landscapes, historic communities, and four-season recreational opportunities.
\n
\nFor professionals considering relocation, the region offers a distinctive alternative to larger metropolitan environments.
\n
\nLakes, nature, and outdoor recreation
\nSeneca Falls is near Cayuga Lake and within reach of Seneca Lake, providing access to boating, fishing, waterfront recreation, and scenic drives.
\n
\nThe surrounding Finger Lakes region is known for its parks, trails, waterfalls, wineries, and opportunities to enjoy the outdoors throughout the year.
\n
\nA community with history and character
\nSeneca Falls holds an important place in American history, particularly through its connection to the women's rights movement. Its historic downtown and surrounding communities offer a different pace of life from major metropolitan centers.
\n
\nNearby communities such as Waterloo, Geneva, and Auburn provide additional choices for shopping, dining, housing, and recreational activities.
\n
\nHousing and lifestyle choices
\nProfessionals relocating to the region can explore established village neighborhoods, suburban-style properties, rural homes, and locations near the lakes.
\n
\nHousing costs and availability vary by community and property type, making it worthwhile to compare options based on personal priorities and commuting preferences.
\n
\nEducation and regional connections
\nThe broader Finger Lakes area provides access to educational institutions, including Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, as well as other colleges and universities within the region.
\n
\nSeneca Falls also offers access to the Rochester and Syracuse metropolitan areas for additional cultural, transportation, and professional resources.
\n
\nFor an executive seeking a rewarding leadership position in a region known for natural beauty and community character, Seneca Falls offers an appealing setting to explore.
\n
\nThe Background That Will Position You for Success
\nThe organization is seeking an experienced financial leader with the technical expertise, strategic perspective, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with senior leadership.
\n
\nRequired qualifications\n\n

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in a comparable financial management position.
Previous leadership experience.
